AZUSA, Calif. - Azusa Pacific track & field hosted the Franson Classic on Saturday, and the Cougars performed well at their home facility. Azusa Pacific saw athletes hit provisional marks and times, win events, and set new personal bests over the day of competition.

FIELD EVENTS PROVISIONAL PERFORMANCES

Three Cougars on the women's side of things turned in provisional efforts in their respective field events. In the long jump, Nicole Warwick won the event with a distance of 6.16m (20' 2 ½"), which not only met the provisional standard for the event, but it matched the top mark in the nation for the event heading into this weekend. For Warwick, today's meet was her first time competing in the long jump this outdoor season.

On the pole vault, Sara Wagenveld and Abigail Gray both matched their season-best height. Wagenveld cleared 3.95m (12' 11 ½") for the second time this season, which is currently the sixth-best mark in the country. Gray was able to vault 3.80m (12' 5 ½"), which tied the mark she cleared a few weeks ago that put her at No. 9 on the national list.
