Box Score IRVINE, Calif. – Azusa Pacific won its fourth-consecutive match on Saturday afternoon, as the Cougars went to Concordia and claimed a 6-1 victory. Azusa Pacific is now 6-1 overall.

The first result of the day came from the No. 1 doubles match, where the Azusa Pacific duo of Leyton Bohren and Ryan Nuno would win 6-2. Sam Sippel and Ethan Smith secured the doubles point for the Cougars, taking the No. 3 match by a 6-3 margin.

After helping clinch the doubles point, Sippel turned right around at No. 2 singles to win his first set 6-4, and then he posted a shutout 6-0 second set victory. Up to 2-0 overall, the Cougars received another point from Elias Emilio Walter at No. 3, where the reigning PacWest Player of the Week won in straight set fashion (6-2, 6-3).Â

While Concordia was able to earn a point with a win in the No. 4 matchup, Nuno delivered the match-clinching win at No. 1 in a three-set battle. Nuno lost the first set 4-6, but responded with a 6-3 second set to force a final set. In the third frame, Nuno would earn a commanding 6-2 win.

Miha Velicki added the fifth point of the day for the Cougars, winning 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5, and Ivan Noel Hornung finished the match off with a super tiebreak triumph (6-4, 7-6, 10-7).
