MONTEREY PARK, CALIF. - Azusa Pacific swimming and diving closed out it's three days of competition at the Winter Invitational on Sunday, setting seven season-bests and five personal-bests in the pool.Â
To open day three of the meet, Aleena Herrera earned a personal-best in the 1650, touching the wall at 17:29.53, and teammate Tessie Scavone earned a season-best with a finishing time of 18:14.54.Â
In the 200 back, Marci Yanagawa earned a season-best time, coming in at 2:08.75, while Elaine Wong earned herself a personal-best in this event, finishing at 2:11.75.Â
Montana White continued her impressive season thus far, earning a season-best in the 100 free which is an event she has already nationally qualified for at the "B" standard. Her time of 51.01 earned her a second place finish in the event. Madeline Schultz also earned herself a national qualifying time at the "B" standard in this event, finishing third with a personal-best time of 51.48. Riley Smith also earned a season-best time, touching the wall at 52.78.Â
Amanda Anderson claimed another first place finish, this time in the 200 breast, with a season-best time of 2:21.66. Delanie Gearing also earned herself a season-best finishing time of 2:25.76, and Madison Schneider claimed a personal-best, finishing at 2:30.53.Â
The Cougars continued their impressive times throughout the meet, this time in the 200 fly. Marcelina Halawczak earned herself a personal-best at 2:11.12, and Nicole Barton posted a season-best time of 2:29.27.Â
To wrap up the day and close out the meet, it was Hannah Swailes, Schultz, Smith and White in the 400 free relay. The quartet combined for a time of 3:28.50, finishing .43 seconds shy of the school record that was set in 2019.Â
