Elle Alexander competed at the Olympic Training Center High Performance Meet #2 in Chula Vista, Calif. on Saturday. Alexander set a new personal-record in the discus with a provisional performance.

Alexander, who is second all-time in Azusa Pacific history in the discus, had a career-best mark of 53.56 meters (175' 8 ¾"). Entering Saturday, Alexander was fourth in the nation in the event, and her performance in Chula Vista allowed her to move into third. She had set her previous career best earlier this season at the Team 4 Ely Invitational in Irvine, where she had a mark of 51.89m (170' 6").

In addition to the discus, Alexander participated In the hammer event, where she reached a provisional distance of 54.19 meters (177' 4 ½"). Earlier this season, Alexander set a new personal-record with a throw of 54.25m (178'), which is a top-25 mark in the country.
