The NCATA announced its academic honorees on Wednesday evening, and Beth Magee highlighted a group of 25 Cougars who were recognized for their academic excellence. For the third consecutive year, Magee was an NCATA All-Academic Team selection.
Magee, one of eight honorees on the All-Academic Team, holds a cumulative GPA of 3.99 as an Allied Health major. In all three of the Cougars' meets this season, Magee has competed in the compulsory (acro, pyramid, tumbling), seven-element acro, duo tumbling, aerial tumbling and the team event. She has also seen action in the synchronized pyramid (two meets) and open toss (one meet). In all of the heats in which she competed, the Cougars had a start value of 9.75 or higher. In seven-element acro, Magee helped the Cougars average a score of 9.8 over the three meets, scoring 9.85 out of 10 against Oregon and in the regular season finale against Arizona Christian. In her solo pass for the aerial tumbling event, Magee opened the season with a score of 9.925 against Oregon.
"Since Beth arrived to our program, she has been dedicated both academically and athletically," said head coach Kara Willard, "She is consistent and reliable in how she approaches each aspect of her life, and she is very deserving of this award for the third consecutive year!"
