AZUSA, Calif. - The Cougars have now posted three shutouts through their first three matches, as Azusa Pacific picked up a 7-0 win over Colorado Mesa on Saturday morning.Â

Following a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins by Kane (no. 5) and Ivankovic (no. 1), Brooner clinched the match for the Cougars at no. 3 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory of her own. Wagner (no. 3), Katia Betancourt (no. 5), and Stewart (no. 6) preserved the shutout by winning each of their matchups following Brooner's clinching performance.Â
Â
"I was a little concerned coming into today's match that we could be a little flat after playing two straight days, but we came out and played extremely well in doubles and then carried that right into singles," said head coach Mark Bohren, "it was also great to see Audrey Stewart step in and play well in her first match of the season. I am very pleased with our performance over the past three days."
Â
Azusa Pacific will have a few days to rest and prepare for its next competition, as Fresno Pacific will visit the Cougars on Tuesday, March 9 at 2:30 pm.
