IRVINE, Calif. - Azusa Pacifc extended it's early season winning streak to five by defeating Concordia 4-2 on Friday afternoon.Â

Azusa Pacific secured the doubles point by sweeping the Eagles in the three doubles matches. The pairing of Jacky Wagner and Audrey Stewart got the Cougars started off by winning their match in the No. 2 spot by a score of 6-4. Petra Ivankovic and Anna Savchenko followed by winning their match and clinching the doubles victory by a score of 6-4 in the No. 1 slot, and the sweep was secured by Madison Kane and Courtney Page in which they won the No. 3 matchup by a score of 6-4.Â

Wagner started singles off right for the Cougars, winning in straight sets at No. 3 (6-0, 6-1). Ivankovic followed Wagner by winning her No. 1 matchup in three sets, as she fell in the first set 4-6, but fought back to win the final two sets 6-4, 6-4. The Eagles didn't make it easy on the Cougars by winning the next two matchups in the No. 4 and No. 5 slots. The Cougars clinched the match when Anna Savchenko battled in three sets at the No. 2 position, ultimately clinching the match (7-6 (8-6), 3-6, 6-1).Â

The Cougars will return to the court on Thursday, March 18 at home against Western New Mexico. The match is set to begin at 2:30 PM.
