IRVINE, Calif. – Azusa Pacific rolled to a 6-1 win at Concordia on Friday afternoon, improving to 5-1 on the season.

The Cougars started the contest by winning two out of three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and a 1-0 lead overall. While the Eagles opened the afternoon with a 6-1 win at #1 doubles, Azusa Pacific took the #2 match with
April Wong and
Anna Savchenko posting a 6-3 win, and then
Petra Ivankovic and
Audrey Stewart claimed a 6-2 victory at #3 doubles.

In singles, Azusa Pacific took the first three matches to go up 4-0 in the contest overall.
Jacky Wagner won her matchup at #3 in two sets, 6-0, 6-2. In the #2 match, Savchenko also beat her opponent in two sets, 6-0, 6-4, and then
Katia Betancourt won 6-3, 6-1 at #6. Concordia was able to get its lone point of the day in the #5 match, but the Cougars closed out the contest with a 6-4, 6-2 victory from Wong at #4 and a three-set, super-tiebreak win by Ivankovic in the #1 match. Ivankovic defeated Ghazal Pakbaten, who is ranked #27 nationally, and #3 in the West region.

The Cougars will head to Georgia for their next matches, as they take on West Alabama (Mar. 5), Columbus State (Mar. 6) and Flagler College (Mar. 7). Azusa Pacific returns home to take on UC San Diego on March 12, which is a make-up date for a February 22 contest that was rained out.
