AZUSA, Calif.-- The No. 14 ranked Azusa Pacific women's tennis team didn't drop a set in posting a 4-0 victory against San Diego Christian Friday afternoon. With the win, the Cougars improved to 4-1 on the season.
Doubles: April Wong and
Anna Savchenko finished first at the No. 2 position with a 6-1 victory, while teammates
Audrey Stewart and
Petra Ivankovic posted a 7-5 win at the No. 3 spot to clinch the doubles point. The tandem of
Jacky Wagner and
Courtney Page wrapped up a sweep of the doubles matches with a 7-5 victory at the No.1 slot before heading into singles.
Singles: The Cougars followed the momentum of doubles and made quick work of the match in their solo efforts. At the No. 3 slot, Wagner came out victorious with a 6-2, 6-0 win while teammate Savchenko followed up with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court two. Wong clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 4 spot.
What's Next: The Cougars will be back in action at the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex on Saturday, Feb. 22 to take on UC San Diego for a 2:00 p.m. match.
