St. Augustine, FLA.-- After an 11 game winning streak, the Azusa Pacific men's tennis team received its second loss of the season to No. 7 Flagler College Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference match at the Flagler Tennis Center. With a 1-4 deficit, the Cougars are now 19-2 on the season.Â
The Cougars sprinted out to claim the first doubles victory at court two with a 6-4 win from
Ryan Nuno and
Leyton Bohren. Shortly after, the Saints answered back with a 6-4 win at the No. 3 position downing the tandem of
Ethan Smith and
Ronald Kang. With all eyes at the top spot, Flagler's Lukas Storck and Felipe Cavalho topped APU's
Jakob Schnaitter and
Jesse Haas to receive the first point of the day.Â
Heading into singles play, Flagler won both sets at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions to give the Saints a commanding 3-0 lead over the Cougars. Fighting back at the No. 4 spot,
Leyton Bohren put a point on the board for APU with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory. The Saints followed up with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 win from Konstantin Dustmann at the No. 6 spot over
Roberto Luconi to clinch the match 4-1.Â
 Up next the Cougars will travel back to the west coast to take on UC San Diego Friday, April 12 for a 2:30 p.m. matchup at the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex.Â
