SURPRISE, Ariz.-- The Azusa Pacific women's tennis team earned a spot in the NCAA West Regional matches after winning the third place title in the PacWest tournament Saturday afternoon with a 4-2 win over Sonoma State.

Anna Savchenko and April Wong started out in doubles strong with a 6-3 win on court two, but Sonoma State fired back at the No.1 spot downing Jacky Wagner and Kara Hinton 6-3 to settle the score. The Cougars took the doubles point as Petra Ivankovic and Audrey Stewart snagged a 6-4 victory at the No. 3 position.

Heading into singles, Carolyn Brooner put a point on the board for the Seawolves at the No. 3 position over APU's Kara Hinton, winning 6-4, 6-3. At court four, Jacky Wagner put the Cougars back the lead with a 6-3, 6-0 victory, but Jensyn Warren downed Petra Ivankovic at the top spot 6-2, 6-4 to give the Cougars no room to breathe.
