FAIRBANKS, Alaska -- In the first of two dual meets between Azuas Pacific and Alaska Fairbanks this weekend, the Cougars won 114-91 on Friday evening.

Riley Smith, and
Tessie Scavone led the way for the Cougars, as Smith scored 22 points for the Cougars, Frey added 21 points, Anderson tallied 17 points, and Scavone had eight points in two events.
While Fairbanks took first in both the 400 yard medley relay and the 200 medley relay, Azusa Pacific swimmers took first place in six out of the nine individual races. Smith and Frey each won two races, while Anderson and
Emily Rigsby took first place in one event each. In addition to winning six individual races, the Cougars also took first and second in three races, earning 13 points in each of those events (nine points for first place, four points for second place).Â
"Our entire team had a hand in our win tonight," said head coach
Tim Kyle, "We were able to pick up points from multiple swims in the second, third and fourth finishing positions tonight. Now, we need to focus on tomorrow's competition."
