HONOLULU, Hawai'i -- Following two hard fought halves and 20 minutes of overtime, Azusa Pacific settled for a 1-1 draw against Hawai'i Pacific in its second game of a three-game PacWest road trip.

Throughout the course of the first half, both teams created opportunities. The breakthrough came for Azusa Pacific in the 37th minute. Freshman Ella Romero received a pass from fellow freshman Abi Hume and took a shot that hit the post and then went in, giving the Cougars a 1-0 lead. Romero's goal was her third of the season and of the week, as she scored both goals for Azusa Pacific in Thursday's 2-0 win against Chaminade in the PacWest opener.

Hawai'i Pacific quickly tied the game with a goal in the 42nd minute, which ended up being the final goal in the match.

Sophomore goalkeeper Isabelle Decker came up big for the Cougars, as she finished the match with 8 saves while playing all 110 minutes in goal. Romero led Azusa Pacific with three shots in the game, including two on goal. Senior Kellie Yoshihara had two shots, with one being on goal, and junior Kennedy Christie also had two shots, with one on goal.

Following Saturday's result, the Cougars are now 1-4-1 overall and 1-0-1 in PacWest play. Up next is a visit to the Big Island, wrapping up the three-game road trip with a visit to Hawai'i Hilo on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. (HAST).
