Riverside, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific dropped two to California Baptists in Saturday afternoons PacWest Conference doubleheader. Kat Ung got the start in game ones 8-0 lose and Racqual Espinoza got her ninth start of the season in game twos 3-2 lose.
Freshman Amanda Woods hit her third home run in game two of the doubleheader. Woods currently leads the Cougars offense, overall hitting (.383) in 78 at bats and (.525) in conference after 40 at bats.
GAME 1: California Baptist 8, Azusa Pacific 0
Kat Ung held California Baptist to three scoreless innings before the Lancers capitalized on two solo home runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Megan Mejia made her thirteenth appearance of the season in the fifth inning with two outs, the Lancers rallied and scored three runs before
Gaby Grabowski took to the circle and got the Cougars out of a bases-loaded situation with a pop up to
Cayla Broussard to end the inning.
The Lancers scored three more times in the sixth inning to extend its lead over the Cougars 8-0.

Becca Jewett recorded the Cougars solo hit of the game, with a double down the left field line.
The Cougars had runners in scoring position during over half of the six and a half innings played, leaving seven batters on base throughout the game.
Illiana Jimenez stole her 22nd base of the season.
GAME 2: California Baptist 3, Azusa Pacific 2
The Lancers were the first to get on the board, they scored one run in the first two innings of the game to take an early lead.
Azusa Pacific came alive in the third inning when they scored two runs to tie the Lancers 2-2. Woods led off the Cougars mid-game hitting campaign with a solo shot over the left field line. The Cougars continued its offense push when they had bases loaded with two outs and

Scoring came to a halt in the fourth and fifth innings when neither team could scratch a run.
The Lancers reclaimed its lead in the sixth inning, scoring the games final run off of a single hit up the middle.
