Azusa, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific extended its win streak after Monday's afternoon 8-0, 6-2 sweep over Notre Dame de Namur. Senior center fielder Illiana Jimenez went hit .571 (4-7), Erinn Jaramillo and Amanda Woods each had three RBIs on the day.

GAME 1: Azusa Pacific 8, Notre Dame de Namur 0

For the third time in the last four days the Cougars mercied its opponent in five innings.

Azusa Pacific scored runs in all but one inning in today's five-inning win, crossing the plate 8 times and holding the Argonauts scoreless. Sophomore pitcher Kat Ung now 11-9 earned the win for the Cougars holding the Argonauts to two hits. Illiana Jimenez, Jenna Gorman, and Amanda Woods went 2-for-3 at the plate.

The Cougars scoring was sparked when Illiana Jimenez got to third on Gormans single up the middle then scored off of a throwing error by the center fielder. Emily Moran watched four-straight balls and took first on a passed ball, which Gorman took advantage of and scored to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead after one complete inning.

In the second inning, Woods hit her fifth collegiate home run to tie Freshman Becca Jewett for the team high. Her shot over left center put the Cougars on top 3-0. Azusa Pacific scored its fourth run of the game off of a double steal when Broussard got in a rundown between first and second allowing Illiana Jimenez the opportunity to steal home.

Senior Anneliese Davis hit an RBI double in the third inning to trade places with Emily Abzun making the Cougars lead to 6-0.

The Cougars scored its winning run in the fifth when Woods hit an RBI double down the left field line to score Abzun and Erinn Jaramillo.

GAME 2: Azusa Pacific 6, Notre Dame de Namur 2

Illiana Jimenez and Broussard were once again on the corners when Broussard stole send and the catcher overthrew the base and both runners advanced an additional base, earning the first run of the game when Jimenez crossed the plate.

Davis went deep in the count early in the second inning and drew a walk, which got away from the catcher and scored Abzun. The Cougars scratched two more runs in the inning with Jaramillo singled to left field and scored Illiana Jimenez ad Cayla Broussard.

Notre Dame de Namur strung a pair of singles together in the third inning to score its two runs.

In the fourth inning, Davis scored off of a fielders choice hit by Jaramillo and Broussard scored off of an error by the shortstop to score the games final runs and top off the game 6-2.
