SEATTLE --
Savanna Hanson and
Laura Pranger both finished with double-doubles to lead Azusa Pacific to its third consecutive win on the road Friday evening against host Seattle Pacific at the Sodexo Tip-Off Classic, 67-58.
Leading again for the Cougars with another solid double-double was junior guard
Savanna Hanson with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore forward
Laura Pranger turned in her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard
Zoe March helped lead Azusa Pacific with 12 points and 8 rebounds while fellow teammates
Lydia Nieto and
Daylee Hanson pitched in eight points apiece.
Rachel Bozlee added a season-high nine points.
Exchanging points early on, neither team held a double figure lead at any point in the first half. After a neck-and-neck battle for almost the entire first half, the Cougars went on an 8-0 run in the final minute of the second frame to take a 33-25 halftime lead. The Cougars would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the evening, controlling the boards on both ends with 52 rebounds while Seattle Pacific pitched in 39.
A
Savanna Hanson jumper with 4:28 left in the game helped Azusa Pacific extend its lead to a game-high margin of 15 points. The Falcons went on a 6-0 run in the remaining minutes, but the Cougars held a 9-point lead at 67-58 when time expired, giving Azusa Pacific its third consecutive win of the season.
