AZUSA, Calif. – With an offensive effort not seen in quite away, Azusa Pacific swept preseason PacWest favorite Concordia in three sets (25-19, 25-17, 25-11) on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Azusa Pacific (11-1, 4-0 PacWest) produced a season high .379 hitting percentage which bests the previous best set last week against Point Loma (.361). It is the third time in their last four matches the Cougars offense has hit .350 or better.
Azusa Pacific's most impressive set was the second when they notched 19 kills and just one error on their 39 attempts (.462).
The opening frame was tight until the last points. Trailing 18-17, Azusa Pacific scored eight of the final 10 points; the last six of which were served by Bailey Henington. During the second set the Cougars got a three-point lead at 14-11 and never let the Eagles any closer the rest of the way. During the final stanza the Cougars scored the first five points and never were threatened the rest of the set.
PACWEST BEST - Since the Cougars began playing a PacWest schedule in 2013, they have never started 4-0. In 2006, as members of the Golden State Athletic Confernece, Azusa Pacific won their first four conference games.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Natalie Klapp and Sara Wagenveld each had a team best eight kills
- The foursome of Madison Ogas, Julianne Miller, Amy Hinnant and Aliyah Morrison each recorded seven kills
- As well rounded offensively as the Cougars were, Kaylen Higa, Klapp and Henington each tallied 10 digs
- Higa recorded her second straight double-double (23 assists)
