Cougars Roll Past Point Loma

AZUSA, Calif. – The Azusa Pacific volleyball team were efficient from the get-go as they posted a 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-11) win against Point Loma on Thursday evening.

It was the PacWest opener for both teams as the Cougars up their record to 8-1 overall while Point Loma drops to 3-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED – The Cougars posted a .361 hitting percentage. It is the best team hitting percentage for an Azusa Pacific team since the 2013 season when they posted a. 375 mark against McMurry (Dec. 5).

ALL AROUND EFFORTAmy Hinnant and Madison Ogas led the way by tallying a team high nine kills each. The duo of Sara Wagenveld and Julianne Miller were just behind them with eight apiece. Miller (.636), Wagenveld (.615) and Hinant (.515) all posted kills on more than 50 percent of their attempts.

WHO'S NEXT – The Cougars hit the road for a 3 p.m. match on Saturday at Fresno Pacific.
