ST. GEORGE, Utah – In the first of three road matches to close out the regular season, the Cougars were left searching for the right formula.
Dixie State knocked off Azusa Pacific 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-21) on Saturday afternoon in the final home match of the season for the Trailblazers.
SET BY SET: Things were back-and-forth in the opening set until the home team took control late. With the frame tied 14-14, Dixie State closed out the proceedings on an 11-3 scoring spurt. In the second frame, the Trailblazers never trailed. The Cougars (20-6, 13-5) tied the score six times, including 23-23, but couldn't break free as the Trailblazers went up two sets.
A similar story unfolded in the third set. Dixie State (12-13, 10-7) held a 19-12 lead but the Cougars closed the gap to 20-18 but couldn't get over the hump. The home team scored four of the last six points to seal the match.

AGAINST DIXIE STATE: The all-time series moves to 6-5 in favor of the Trailblazers. They have won four of the six matches in St. George.
