BELMONT, Calif. -- It took two overtimes for Notre Dame de Namur to eventually edge Azusa Pacific, 2-1, Monday afternoon in Northern California.

It was the Cougars' fourth game of the season to be decided in overtime, and the defeat drops Azusa Pacific's record to 2-4-1 in conference play and 2-8-1 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED -- The Cougars scored first in this PacWest matchup. Aleksandar Pumpalovic put away a cross from the right side from Arturo Astorga in the 25th minute of the game for the only goal in the first half, giving Azusa Pacific an early 1-0 lead.

Midway through the second half, Notre Dame de Namur's Naia Graham had a golden opportunity when he eluded the goalkeeper, but his shot was stopped by the chest of a Cougar defender who positioned himself behind the goalkeeper to keep the Argos off the scoreboard. However, just two minutes later, the Argos tied up the game with a volley by Esteban Berumen.

During the first overtime, both goalies registered one save each to force the second overtime, and with just 40 seconds left in the contest, NDNU's Tony Andoyan scored the golden goal with a header assisted by Giovanni Rodriguez.
