Second Half Outburst Leads to Win

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – The scoring action was saved for a 20-minute second half stretch.

Azusa Pacific found the back of the net three times in the final half in posting a 3-0 win against Dominican on Saturday afternoon.

With the win the Cougars up their record to 4-3-1 overall and 4-0-2 in league games.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  After a scoreless first half, in which the Cougars held a 12-5 shot advantage, the Cougars broke the lid early in the second frame.

Randi Macadangdang scored her third goal of the season in the 50th minute after Dominican goalkeeper Gabriella Tassano misplayed the ball and the freshman ready to pounce for the net-finder.

The Cougars maintained the one-goal lead until lighting quickly struck twice. In the 69th minute Kennedy Christie scored her first goal of the season with a curling shot after getting a pass from Allison Pepper. Just over a minute later the sophomore scored again with a penalty kick she buried into the lower corner of the goal.
