LA MIRADA, Calif. – In their final competition prior to the season's climax at the conference championships, things went quite well for the Cougars.
On Saturday afternoon Azusa Pacific swept a quad meet against Concordia, Biola and SOKA to close out their regular season slate.

The final meet of the season is less than three weeks away when the Cougars travel to the Pacific Coast Swimming Conference (PCSC) championships which will be held in Monterey Park at East Los Angeles Community College. The championships begin Feb. 8.
"Today we had another opportunity to compete and to perform at our highest possible level," head coach Tim Kyle said. "Even with all the hard training we have been doing, we had some really solid swims today."
Azusa Pacific depth was a big factor in the three wins. The Cougars won six swim individual events as well as both of the day's relay events On the diving board Kianna Mourer posted a pair of outstanding six-dive scores to win the one-meter (273.75) and three-meter (272.70) competitions.

To open the day's proceedings, Abigail Wiet, Elodie Poo Cheong, Angel Van Hofwegen and Hallie Jones won the 200-yard medley relay by over four seconds (1:27.97).
Rosalee Mira Santa Ana won the first individual event with a time of 10:33.37 in the 1000-yard freestyle. Alyse Darnall was the next top finisher as she swam the 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.08. Poo Cheong gave the Cougars first-place team points as she took top honors in the 100-yard breastroke (1:09.13).Â
Abigail Wiet tallied another top finish as the sophomore swam the 200-yard backstroke in 2:11.62. Angel Van Hofwegen rounded out the top podium swims by winning the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.15). Santa Ana won her second event of the day by pulling away late in the 400-yard IM (4:43.41). Â
The day concluded with the foursome of Van Hofwegen, Jones, Darnall and Santa Ana winning the 400-yard freestyle in 3:42.49.
