HAYWARD, Calif. – With the season closing down to its final weeks, the Azusa Pacific swimmers left the confines of southern California for a final time.
In a match-up against No. 22 Cal State East Bay, the home team posted a 125-75 win as the Cougars competed in their non-primary events.

In the 13-event competition, the Cougars won three as the squad is just over a month away from the four-day conference championships; the season's pinnacle event.
"I'm pleased with the way we swam today. We are in the midst of some tough training right now and it's good to give the team a mental break from their main events," head coach Tim Kyle said. "All of our work is focused on peaking at the conference championships."
Rosalee Mira Santa Ana won the 200-yard freestyle event as the junior touched the wall nearly two second faster than her nearest competitor. Her time of 1:56.10 was the second fastest for any Cougar this season.
Abigail Wiet took top scoring honors during the 100-yard breastroke as she recorded a time of 1:13.18.
During the day's final event, the foursome of Bailie Carroll, Nicole Johnson, Angel Van Hofwegen and Rachel Wasko were team high scoring team in the 400-yard freestyle. The tandem completed the competition in 3:53.65.
