AZUSA, Calif. – Not much could have gone better on Thursday evening.
From the opening kick the Cougars were in control during their 4-0 win against Cal State Monterey Bay as they posted their first win of 2016.
Azusa Pacific recorded a 13-2 edge in overall shots, with a 6-2 advantage for shots on frame. The home team created six corner kick opportunities while the Otters took just one.
Kelsey Bushman scored her first collegiate goal in fine fashion. Just after the opening kick, fellow first-year Emile Allum controlled the ball at the midfield circle and fed the ball to Bushman who took several dribbles before ripping a shot that tickled the twine. The goal, which came 21 seconds into the game, is believed to be the fastest under 16th year head coach Jason Surrell.
