ST. GEORGE, Utah – Down early, the Cougars provided the necessary offense late.
Azusa Pacific continued its winning way as they rallied for a 6-4 win against Dixie State, the nation's 17th ranked team, in the first of a four-game series.
With the win the Cougars have won 10 of their last 13 games. Pablo O'Connor had two hits – both of which went for extra bases. The sophomore smashed a homerun and also had a double in the victory. Also getting two base knocks in the win was Mitch Dergazarian, Adrian Tovalin and Steven Garrett.
The Trailblazers (30-9, 18-7 PacWest) had seven hits through the first four innings but managed five in the last five innings as they couldn't push a run across the plate.

After O'Connor hit the first pitch of the inning for a double, he scored four pitches later after a fielding error. Mario Morales completed the two-run inning with his first RBI of the season as he singled home Justin Gomez.
The Cougars completed their three-run comeback when O'Connor jacked his 11th homerun of the season with a two-run shot over the left field fence. Nursing a 5-4 lead, Azusa Pacific got an insurance run when Dergazarian scored in a wild pitch in the ninth inning.
Billy Sanford worked around a hit in the ninth inning as he picked up his second save of the season.
