HONOLULU, Hawaii – The only silver lining for Azusa Pacific was at least it wasn't a loss.
On Thursday afternoon the Cougars played their third scoreless draw of the season, this time against Hawaii Pacific.
Azusa Pacific pressed into their upper third a vast majority of the game. They held a 17-6 edge in total shots while taking three corner kicks without surrendering any.
Sarah Klinkenberg made four saves, all of which were fairly routine, en route to her 22nd career shutout. As a team it was the Cougars 11th shutout of the season.

The tie ends the Cougars seven game winning streak but extends their unbeaten streak to nine. Azusa Pacific hasn't lost a game since Sept. 24 at Concordia.
During the opening half the Cougars put solid pressure along the Hawaii Pacific back lines but despite putting three shots on frame, among other opportunities, Azusa Pacific couldn't break through.
Early in the second half the Sharks had their best opportunity. Lei Kaina booted a ball from 25 yards out that clipped off the cross bar and then landed out of play.
The Cougars hit a little bit of iron of their own with just over 16 minutes left. Mikalela Truckey and Sharks goal keeper Lauren Spencer went after a loose ball near the top of the box. Truckey just beat her to the ball and hit a chipped shot that clanged off the post.
In the first extra session, Hayley Williamson centered a ball into the box but the clanging continued when Stephanie Lossau headed it off the cross bar. Cara Scammon and Kennedy Christie put serious threats for a score on frame but Spencer made two diving saves.
Azusa Pacific concludes their Hawaii trip with a Saturday contest against Chaminade at 2:30 p.m.
