Post Game Interview with head coach Dave Blomquist
In the 15th minute the Hawks (1-10-1, 1-7 PacWest) opened the scoring when Yohannes Harish made a nice move to get free then struck a tough angled shot from the left side. His attempt from 15 yards clipped off the crossbar then crossed the goal line. It proved to be the only shot on goal for the visitors. In the 23rd minute Arturo Astorga looked to have tied the score but he was deemed offside.
The visitors took that lead into halftime but their edge was short lived. Less than six minutes into the second half, Callum Wallace scored his third goal of the season when he took a feed from Arturo Astorga at the top of the box. The sophomore's low lining shot clipped a Hawks defenseman and past goal keeper Juan Nieves
With just over 20 minutes left, the Cougars (5-5-2, 5-3) took the lead. Mathias Thomsen struck a beautifully place free kick right at the top of the box. His bender from the just left of center found the upper ninety on the left side for the game winner.
Azusa Pacific takes the next week off as they prepare for a trip to the Hawaiian Island for four games. They open the stretch on Oct. 22 against Hawaii Hilo.
