With every member of the line-up sporting a fashionable bandana, the Cougars posted a 7-2 victory over San Diego Christian on Monday.

Twelfth ranked Azusa Pacific improves to 8-1. The Hawks, a first year NAIA program, entered the match ranked 24th in the nation falls to 5-4.
The Hawks put a solid fight from the get go in trying to pull the upset. The Cougars top doubles team of Jan Meyer and Gary Yam held a 7-4 lead before Leonardo Urquidi and Brendan Aguilar fought back to tie it at 7-7. However, Meyer and Yam won two straight to clinch the match 9-7.
At the No. 2 slot Ben Eger and Pascal Engel were pushed early on before pulling away for an 8-4 win. The Azusa Pacific doubles sweep was empathically stamped with Alan Leahy and Shepherd Newcomb's 8-2 victory at the No. 3 position.
Meyer had no trouble in dispatching of Aguilar at the No. 1 singles position. The junior won his team leading eighth match of the season 6-0, 6-1. In the second singles spot, Egar posted a comfortable 6-2 win in the first set but had to battle in the second set before prevailing 7-5.
Gary Yam recorded a hard fought 6-4, 6-4 win at the fourth singles spot while Leahy notched his sixth win of the season with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the No. 5 slot.
The Hawks got their two team points at the No. 3 and No. 6 singles matches. Alessandro Moriano knocked off Pascal Engel 6-4, 6-2 while Maksym Zasadnyy fought off a valiant effort from Newcomb 6-3, 6-4.
Azusa Pacific puts their six-match winning streak on the line against Rochester on Thursday afternoon.
