AZUSA, Calif. – On Saturday the Azusa Pacific swimmers and divers hosted Biola in their only home event of the 2015-16 season.
It was an all-around day of celebration as the Cougars won all but two of the individual events in claiming the dual meet victory. In addition to their second dual meet win the of the season, the program took a moment to recognize the hard work that seniors Anna Eckberg, Erica Knudsen and Lindsey Luebker have put forth during their time with the team.

"I'm really pleased with how our three seniors performed this morning. They have helped propel this program forward and they have been a big part of where we have come from," Kyle said. "It's been a pleasure to watch Anna, Erica and Lindsey grow and I'm looking forward to seeing how they conclude their time here."
The swimming and diving program is in its eighth year of existence at the university and Saturday's meet was the second home meet for the team.
"Today was a really good day all around. I really like where we are with our training and I'm pleased with the way the team performed today," said head coach Tim Kyle. "All around it was great to see the total support of the not only the friends and family of the team but also members of Azusa Pacific administration out here backing the program."
SWIMMING
A host of swimmers brought home high team point totals with top three finishes. Leading the way was the sophomore duo of Rosalee Mira Santa Ana and Alyse Darnall with each of them winning two events.
Santa Ana started her individual efforts with a win in the 200-yard freestyle by touching the wall in 1:55.32 which was nearly a full five seconds faster than the closest Biola competitor. In her final event she swam an NCAA "B" cut time of 5:06.53 during the 500-yard freestyle event.
Darnall won both the sprint freestyle races. In her 50-yard dual with Knudsen, the sophomore's time of 25.31 was just two one-thousandth of a second faster than her senior teammate. Similarly in the 100-yard event, Darnall (55.10) was just a tick faster than Knudsen (55.31).
During the 1000-yard freestyle competition the Cougars took the top three spots as Eckberg won the event with a time of 11:21.77 with Sydney Bello (11:32.57) and Ali Gomez (11:47.68) rounding out the top three positions.
Two freshman got into the winning formula as Elodie Poo Cheong and Abigail Wiet each won an event. They went neck-and-neck during the 200-yard IM race with Poo Cheong topping her classmate by .19 seconds as she touched the wall in 2:12.91. Wiet claimed her victory during her signature stroke by winning the 200-yard backstroke in 2:11.79. Also of note during the IM race, Eckberg (2:16.94) finished second while teammate Brook Miller (2:22.29) made it a clean sweep of the top three spots.
Both Cougar relay teams were solid in claiming first place in the 200-yard medley relay (1:51.83) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:42.71)
DIVING
Kianna Mourer posted to great scores in both one- and three-meter competitions. The sophomore posted a team best 267.5 points during the one-meter event and scored 257.62 points as the top scorer in three-meter.
Freshman Rachel Johns posted a pair of 200-plus point efforts. Johns went for 209.02 points in one-meter then 205.50 in three-meter.
Lindsay Luebker completed her day in both swimming and diving by scoring team points with a total of 137.84 in three-meter then 121.50 in one-meter.
