Cougars, Vulcans Battle to Scoreless Draw

Box Score HILO, Hawaii - It was a no goal Monday for Azusa Pacific and Hawaii Hilo.

After 90 minutes of regulation play and another 20 in extra time neither team could find the back of the net as the defenses for each team stood tall.

It was the first 0-0 draw for the Cougars since a GSAC Tournament game against Point Loma in 2011.

Zoey Bauman earned her first career start in front of the net for the Cougars. The freshman got the shutout by making two saves. Jenna Hufford blocked aside seven shots for the home team.

Offensively Lindsey Ryals recorded a team high four shots for Azusa Pacific, two of which were on goal. Haley Arft came off the bench to put two shots on goal to help pace the Cougars offense.

Azusa Pacific held a 9-3 edge in overall shots while posting a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Azusa Pacific will travel to Chaminade as their four-game swing through the Island State continues on Thursday afternoon. Game time is set for 1:30 (HST).
