SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The NAIA’s No. 1-ranked Azusa Pacific rebounded from its first loss of the season with an 8-1 GSAC win over No. 12 Point Loma Nazarene Friday in San Diego.

With the win, Azusa Pacific improves to 24-1 overall, 7-0 GSAC, and in the process the Cougars clinch their third straight GSAC championship. Point Loma drops to 13-12, 4-4. With a win Saturday at Westmont, the Cougars can clinch their third straight undefeated GSAC season.

The Cougars won 2 of 3 doubles, winning at No. 2 and No. 3 and then cruised through singles play, taking all 6 single matches to clinch the match.
