LA MIRADA, Calif. -- Exactly one week ago, Azusa Pacific spotted Biola 7 runs and was able to come back and make it a game. Biola would have none of that today.

After taking a 7-0 lead after 3 innings, the NAIA's No. 6-ranked Eagles never let the Cougars back in on their way to a 12-4 GSAC win in La Mirada.

The loss snaps the Cougars' 4-game win streak and drops them 13-8 overall, 3-6 GSAC. Biola improves to 15-3, 8-2.

NAIA All-American Carl Galloway was 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs. His was the third of 3 Eagle singles in the first that gave them a 1-0 lead. However, the damage was done in the third as Biola sent 10 batters to plate and scored 6 runs to take a 7-0 lead. Galloway and Matt Parrish back-to-back 2-RBI doubles in the inning.

Derek Wohlers started for the Cougars and suffered his first loss of the season after lasting 5 innings and allowing 7 runs, 6 of them in the third. Garet Hill started for Biola going 5 innings and allowing just 2 runs to pick up the win for Biola. He retired the first 8 batters he faced.

The Cougars finally got on the board in the fourth. Robbie Lindsey, who finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, drove in Stephen Vogt, who led off the inning with a double. Vogt finished 3-for-5.

Lindsey led off the sixth with his fourth home run of the season, and Hill was lifted in favor of Reid Hamblet, who struck out the first batter he faced. Joe Morrison then walked, Ryan Marcos doubled, and Coba Canales drove in Morrison with an RBI single to make it 7-3. However, Hamblet struck out the next 2 batters, and the Cougars got no closer.

The Eagles added another run in the sixth with a sacrifice fly and then put the game away with 4 more in the seventh on the strength of back-to-back home runs by Andy Kroeker and Brent Lavoie to take a 12-3 lead. The Cougars scored another in the ninth and had put first 3 runners on base before Paul Gausepohl struck out the side to end the game.
