Box Score CARSON, Calif. -- CS Dominguez Hills rallied for a 3-run deficit with 3 runs in the seventh to come-from-behind and steal a 5-4 non-conference win from Azusa Pacific Tuesday afternoon in Carson.
The loss snaps the Cougars' 5-game win streak and drops them to 8-2 overall. The Toros snap their 5-game losing streak and move to 4-8.
Robbie Lindsey was 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, including an RBI single in the Cougars' first at-bat. The Cougars added a run each in the fourth and fifth to stake their way to a 3-0 lead.
CS Dominguez began to whittle away at the deficit with an unearned run in the fifth, and then made it 3-2 with an RBI single in the sixth.
The Toros then blew the doors open with 3 runs in the seventh, getting the tying run on an RBI-double play groundout. After a walk and a stolen base, an RBI single through the middle gave CSUDH a 4-3 lead. They added an insurance run on a dropped fly ball by Cougar RF Jeff Staniland, who made a decent effort on a tailing fly ball.
The Cougars loaded the bases with 2 outs in the eighth but could get another run until Lindsey added his second RBI single in the ninth.
Glenn Hedpeth also went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Ran Marcos had 2 hits.
Seven different hurlers took the mound for the Cougars, scattering eight singles and allowing just 3 earned runs. Reliever Josh Grant suffered the loss after allowing 2 hits and 3 runs (2 earned) in the seventh.
