Warriors Nip Cougars, 5-4

HONOLULU, Hawaii – NCAA Division I-member University of Hawaii took 2-of-3 doubles' matches from Azusa Pacific, then held off a furious charge from the Cougars to take a 5-4 victory from the Cougars in one of the most entertaining matches of the year.
 
Tied at 4-4, the match came down to the final singles' match of the day at the No. 3 spot.  Freshman Gordon Hong took the opening set, 7-6, from the Warriors' Malino Oda.  However, Oda recovered to take the next 2 games 6-3, 6-3 and the match, clinching the win for the Warriors.

Azusa Pacific (No. 7 NAIA) drops to 14-8.
Hawaii improves to 15-9.
