Cougars Clinch GSAC Championship

GLENDORA, Calif. – Azusa Pacific, ranked No. 6 in the NAIA, swept 5 of 6 singles' matches to score a 6-3 win over 19th-ranked Point Loma Nazarene Tuesday afternoon in Azusa.
 
The win clinches the 2002 GSAC championship, marking the third time in the past 5 years that the Cougars have won the GSAC title.
 
Despite dropping 2 of 3 doubles' matches and previously unbeaten Benny Lin, who his nursing an injured knee, losing the first match of his 2-year career, the Cougars swept 2-6 singles without dropping a set to clinch the win and the conference title.

Azusa Pacific (No. 6 NAIA) improves to 12-5, 7-0 GSAC
Point Loma Nazarene (No. 19 NAIA) falls to 7-7, 2-3 GSAC
