FULLERTON, CALIF -- Eight different Cougar players scored to lead the NAIA's No. 5 Azusa Pacific to an 11-0 nonconference victory at Hope International today.
With the win, APU continues its perfect season and stands at 9-0. Hope International falls to 0-6 on the year.
The Cougars were led by forwards Melissa Myers and Kimber Carter, and defender Jennifer Babel, who each scored a pair of goals in the contest. Of the Cougars' 39 total shots in the game, 19 of them came in the first half as the Cougars built a 5-0 lead after 45 minutes of play.
The 11 goals scored is a single game school record, as is the margin of victory. It also ties the GSAC women's soccer record.
APU will return to action this Saturday, when they open GSAC play at Concordia in a 1 p.m. start. The Cougars return home next Wednesday to take on Southern Cal College at 7 p.m.
