AZUSA, CALIF. --
Eric Wattree scored 19 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and collected a career-high five blocked shots to lead Azusa Pacific to a 92-79 nonconference victory over California Lutheran Monday night in the Cougardome.
Wattree, who made 7-of-11 shots and has converted 26-of-his-last-32 shots, spurred a 14-4 Cougar run midway through the second Half with four points and two blocked shots that helped put the Cougars up 67-50 with 12:03 left in the game. California Lutheran rallied with a 20-10 run to cut the deficit to 77-70 after Mark Heerema canned a three-pointer with 5:07 left to play. However, the Kingsmen were never able to get any closer the rest of the way as a Cougars made 8-of-11 free throws in the final two minutes of the game.

Ricky Blackmon lead Azusa pacific with a career-high 20 points, including 14 in the first half when Azusa Pacific moved out to a 46-39 halftime lead. Senior Center,
Paul Perkins added 14 points and nine rebounds, including eight caroms in the second half.
Kingsman senior guard Dave Ulloa poured in a career-hi11 free throws in the final two minutes of the game.

Kingsman senior guard Dave Ula poured in a career-high 36 points thanks in part 8-pointers. Heerema added 16, but it wasn't enough to keep Cal Lutheran from having its five-game winning streak snapped. The Kingsmen never led in the game, though they did tie the score 4 times in the first half, the last coming at 32-32 with 4:36 before intermission.
Azusa Pacific is now 15-1 all-time versus Cal Lutheran in Azusa and has won 16 in a row over SCIAC teams.
Azusa Pacific, which is ranked No. 9 in the NAIA, improves to 9-2 on the season, while California Lutheran falls too 5-2.
