The Freshman Leads

AZUSA, CALIF. -- Freshman Raymond Tutt came off the bench to toss in a team – high 21 points to lead Azusa Pacific to a 116-97 victory over Fresno Pacific in a golden state athletic conference game in the cougar dome, Saturday night.

The victory pushed Azusa Pacific's home winning streak to 22 games, one shy of the school-record 23 set between the 1972-74 seasons. The victory was also the seventh Street for the cougars on the season.

Senior forward Ronnie Winbush added 20 points to the cougar cause, including 14 in the first half to leave the cougars to an insurmountable 61-41 halftime lead. Six different cougars scored in double figures. Along with Todd and Winbush, Ed Forney, Paul White, Scott and Michael Dean.

The cougars, who are currently ranked number seven in the latest in AIA Coaches Paul, hit the century mark in points for the ninth time this season and the third Street game.

Azusa Pacific improves to 16-2 overall, 2–0 in GSAC play. Fresno Pacific falls 29-6 overall, 0-2 in the GSAC.
