AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific twin sprinters Osmond and Davison Ezinwa both clocked top times in the world this year in their respective events at a multi-team meet held at Cougar Stadium.
Osmond set a personal best and Cougar Stadium record of 10.09 in the 100 meters, While Davidson set a personal best, stadium, and Nigerian record of 20.29 in the 200 meters.
The multi-team competition, which brought together some of the world's finest track and field performers, featured a number of outstanding individual performances, which includie six Cougar Stadium records. In addition to the Ezinwa brothers' records, new stadium standards were set by Laverne Clark (Canada) in the women's triple jump (40' 6"), Anthony Curran (Stars & Stripes Track Club) in the pole vault (18' 8 1/4"), Azusa Pacific (Wallace Henry, the Ezinwa twins, Corey Thomas) in the men's 4x400-meter relay (40.24), and World Class Track Club (Gail Devers, Valeria Brisco, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Dannette Young) in the 4.400-meter relay (3:35.94).
Azusa Pacific's Vince Beresford established a school record in the pole vault, clearing 17' 0 3/4", to finish third. A week ago, the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Kansas City, Beresford matched the school record at 17' 0."
