APU downs Point Loma in Dual Meet

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific's men's and women's track & field teams rolled to dual meet victories over Point Loma Nazarene College, Friday afternoon on the campus of Point Loma            
The Cougar men scored an 89-74 victory, while the women won 13 of 16 events in rolling to an impressive 98-35 victory.  

The only double-event winner for the Cougar men was Benjamin Koech, who won the long and triple jumps.  Other winners for APU were Jason Wyatt (shot put), Ben Beal (high jump), Dave Fair (100 hurdles), Wallace Henry (400), Vaughan Mealey (pole vault), Osmond Ezinwa (100), Jef Burns (5000) and both relay teams.

In women's action, APU's Heidee Ruiz won the shot put, long jump, and discus, while Jenee Ellis won the 1500 and 3000.  Terri Pruitt won the high and triple jumps.  Other winners were Heather Nevesky (javelin), Dore Dangleis (100), Diana Pacheco (400 hurdles), Teresa Bush (400) and both relay teams.
