RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific spotted UC Riverside a 19-point lead midway in the first have here tonight, and then roared back for a wild 90-83 win over the Highlanders.

Down 41-22 with eight minutes to go before the half, the Cougars out-scored the Scots, 30-7, to enjoy a 52-48 halftime advantage.

The Cougars started slowly, trailing 11-0 early in the game and maintaining that pace until their outburst.

Benny Jackson netted 24 points and Steve Howell had 22 to pace the Cougars.  Howell also had 16 rebounds.

Carl Rodwell led the Highlanders with 16.

The Cougars return to action again tonight when they host Cal Poly (SLO).
