Sarah Macias will enter her second year as a graduate assistant for Azusa Pacific sports information in the 2017-18 school year. In her first year, she served as the primary sports information contact for the Cougars’ men’s and women’s tennis teams as well as women’s water polo while providing support as a secondary contact for football and acrobatics and tumbling.

Prior to joining Azusa Pacific, Macias was a graduate assistant with the softball program at Ottawa University (Kan.) in 2016.

Macias graduated from Wayne State College (Neb.) in May 2016 with a bachelor's degree in sports management. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in leadership with an emphasis in sport management and integrated leadership at Azusa Pacific.

As an undergraduate at Wayne State, Macias worked with the sports information director assisting with statistics for football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball. She also worked with the university's facilities director to assist game operations for halftime promotions, tailgates, and lunch-ins. An avid member of her college's sports club fundraising for charities, Macias helped put together events promoting student attendance at athletic events, and she also wrote for the sports section of the Wayne State student newspaper.

Macias played four seasons of softball for the Wildcats, who compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NCAA Division II), making 17 appearances as a relief pitcher during her 2016 senior season. She led the pitching staff with three saves on the year, which tied her for third on the program’s single-season list.
