Paul Flores II became the head of Compliance & Academic Support for Cougar Athletics in the summer of 2021. In this position, he manages and oversees the athletics department's compliance to NCAA and conference bylaws and regulations, while assisting with the academic support for student-athletes. Additionally, he serves on the senior leadership team and is the sport supervisor for Men's and Women's Track & Field and Men's and Women's Cross Country.
"Paul is a bright young man with a great future ahead of him in college athletics," said Pine. "He is smart, thoughtful, and brings people together. He has a good knowledge of NCAA rules, and he will be a real asset for us. I am also pleased that he is one of ours, a product of Cougar football."
Prior to his role at Azusa Pacific, Flores II gained experience in compliance as the Athletic Compliance Assistant at Cal State Dominguez Hills (2018-19), and he served as the Athletic Compliance and Academic Support Graduate Assistant (2017-18).
Most recently, he was the NCAA Academic Records Specialist for Azusa Pacific, a role which he started in December of 2019.
During his playing career at Azusa Pacific, he started as a quarterback, then transitioned to tight end before the 2011 season, before he converted to left tackle for his final three seasons (2013-15). In 2012, he had one reception, which was a touchdown. As a senior in 2015, Flores II was named to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference First Team and was selected for the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl for his performance at tackle. Following the end of his collegiate career, Flores II attended rookie mini camp with the Kansas City Chiefs before deciding to retire from football.
Paul and his wife, Lucille, reside in Baldwin Park with their two daughters, Lila and Elle, and son Paul III.
