During her first season on staff, she helped guide Azusa Pacific to a 22–7 record and the program’s eighth consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament appearance.
Prior to joining the coaching staff, Uyehara put together one of the most accomplished playing careers in program history. She spent five seasons with the Cougars from 2019–24 and concluded her career ranked among Azusa Pacific’s all-time leaders in several statistical categories. Uyehara finished 10th in program history with 1,571 career points, third with 555 assists, fifth with 204 made three-pointers, sixth with 369 made free throws and ninth with 245 steals.

In her role as Assistant Coach, Uyehara assists with player development, recruiting, scouting, game preparation and the continued development of the culture and standards of Azusa Pacific women’s basketball.
