Nate Nasca begins his tenth year as the strength and conditioning coach for Azusa Pacific Athletics in 2025, which will be his sixteenth year with the university. A former two-sport athlete and assistant coach, Nasca was selected as the Cougars’ first full-time strength and conditioning coach in 2016.
Nasca supervises the university fitness center and oversees the overall strength and conditioning programs for the Cougars’ 17-sport athletics program. He served for six years as an assistant coach for the Azusa Pacific track and field program as the sprints and hurdles coach, and he was an assistant coach for football for two seasons (2011-12).
In addition to his coaching experience, Nasca is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.), and he has earned United States Olympic Weightlifting Level 1 certification. He also owns the following U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) certifications: track and field technical specialist; sprints, hurdles, and relays specialist; jumps specialist.
Nasca played football and ran track at Azusa Pacific, where he helped the Cougars to the 2007 NAIA indoor track and field national championship. He ran for the national champion distance medley relay team and was an All-American in the 60-meter hurdles.
Born in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, Nasca attended Azusa Pacific for three years before graduating in 2009 from the University of Hawai‘i Manoa with a degree in interdisciplinary studies and a minor in history. He currently resides in Azusa.
