Asaundra Dalton

Asaundra Dalton joined the Azusa Pacific University Track & Field coaching staff in Fall 2025 as the Assistant Coach for Sprints and Hurdles. A Detroit, Michigan native, Dalton brings over a decade of competitive and coaching experience to the Cougars’ program.

A former standout at the University of San Francisco, Dalton was a two-time USF Don, earning both her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Higher Education. During her collegiate career, she etched her name into the record books as a four-time school record holder, later extending her sprinting career to the professional ranks in Australia.

With 15 years of running experience and eight years of coaching, Dalton has built a respected résumé in the sport. She previously served as the Sprints and Hurdles Coach at San Francisco State University, where she was named the USTFCCCA 2019 Coach of the Year and West Region Coach of the Year after developing multiple NCAA qualifiers and All-Americans. Most recently, she led the track and field program at Marymount High School in Bel Air, continuing her commitment to athlete development and mentorship.

In addition to her on-track accomplishments, Dalton is also a two-time published author, reflecting her passion for empowering others through storytelling and education.

At APU, Dalton oversees the sprints and hurdles group, bringing a blend of elite-level experience, technical expertise, and a mission-driven approach to the Cougar track and field program.
