THIS YEAR: Mindy Taylor will be competing for playing time at libero and defensive specialist … Another of the incoming freshman that has outstanding ball control … Also a terrific defensive player … Has a great attitude and work ethic.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at El Dorado High spending 3 of those years playing varsity volleyball under head coach Craig Terfertiller … Led the Golden Hawks to a record of 73-11 … Was a 4-time scholar athlete award winner … As a senior, set a new El Dorado record for passing percentage … Earned Century League honorable mention honors in leading the Golden Hawks to the league championship with a perfect 10-0 mark … Also played soccer for 3 seasons … Was twice named team defensive player of the year … Led the soccer team to a 58-12 record in her 3 seasons … Additionally ran track … Placed fourth at the Orange County Finals in the 800 as a freshman … Twice was recognized as a 3-sport Ironwoman Award winner.
PERSONAL: Born Oct. 28, 1986 in Huntington Beach, Calif. to Mark and Cindy Taylor … Has 1 brother (Tim) … Has 3 family members that played sports at Azusa Pacific including her father, Mark, who played football from 1977-79, her cousin, Melissa, who played volleyball and basketball from 1989-93, and her uncle, Paul, played basketball for the Cougars … Majoring in communication and minor in business administration … Wants to work in convention and meeting planning … Enjoys church events.
