THIS YEAR: Megan Burch can play on the outside but is a true right side player because she is left-handed … 1 of 8 freshmen … Is very controlled on the offensive end and does a great job of keeping the ball in play … Contacts the ball high so she is able to move it around effectively … Can put up a very good block … Will compete for playing time on the right side.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Riverside Christian High playing 4 years of varsity volleyball under head coach Jennifer McGuyre … Was a 3-time MVP of the Metro League … Was team captain as a junior and senior … Had a terrific senior season, leading the Cougars to a 20-4 mark while recording 294 kills … Set a county record for kills in a game (30) … Picked as part of the All-CIF Southern Section Division 4 second team … During her junior year garnered to the volleyball All-CIF Division 5 first team after helping her team to an 18-2 record … During that same year was chosen the MVP of the Metro League … Also picked first team All-Metro League after leading the softball team to a league championship … Chosen Metro League MVP after ranking first in the league in blocks and finishing second in kills … Batted .609 for the softball team, playing first base and shortstop.
