CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:  Senior defender Lauren Vroom is the only 4-year starter among a senior class that was the first in program history to win 4 consecutive GSAC championships … Helped anchor an Azusa Pacific defense that posted 53 shutouts and surrendered just 49 goals in 90 games in 4 years.
 
2008 (Senior):  Earned All-GSAC recognition after leading the Azusa Pacific defense to another top performance … Started all 22 games … Was an important piece of a defense that posted 14 shutouts in 22 games and surrendered just 14 goals all season … Assisted the game-winning goal in the Cougars’ 3-0 win over The Master’s in the GSAC Postseason Tournament semifinals, finding Theresa Broad over the top of the Mustangs defense in the 18th minute for the go-ahead score.
 
2007 (Junior):  Started all 23 games for the Cougars … Spearheaded a defense that registered a team goals-against average of 0.60 and posted double-digit shutouts (12) for the third straight season … Helped wrap up the Cougars’ third straight GSAC title, leading a defense that posted 5 straight shutouts and surrendered just 24 total shots over the final 5 games of the regular season.
 
2006 (Sophomore):  Appeared in 13 games, starting 8 times … Part of a defense that allowed fewer than 2 goals in 7 of the 8 games she started … Took 3 shots in the Cougars’ season-opening 1-0 win over Bellevue (Neb.), putting 2 of them on goal.
 
2005 (Freshman):  Started all 22 games in defense for the Cougars … Helped the defense post 14 shutouts … Assisted on the Cougars’ lone goal in the Region II championship game win over Point Loma Nazarene, 1-0 … Took 1 shot.
 
HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 4 varsity seasons at Valley Christian High in San Jose, Calif., under head coaches Jolene Keel and Greg Dmitrovich … Was named to the All-West Catholic Athletic League first team during her junior and senior seasons … Earned an All-Central Coast section honorable mention after her senior year … Led the Warriors to the Central Coast Division III championship as a junior … Served as team captain for 2 seasons.
