Coach Paul Amoy is entering his second season as an assistant coach for the Cougars in 2019-20.
 
In his first year with Azusa Pacific, the Cougars won their first PacWest Championship and participated in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.
 
Prior to coming to Azusa Pacific, Amoy spent 17 years as a high school volleyball coach, including 12 years as a head coach, and 10 years as club volleyball head coach. Most recently, he was an assistant coach for Rancho Christian High School (2016-17) and Linfield Christian High school (2013-15).
 
From 1999 until 2011, Amoy was the head coach at Calvary Chapel Murrieta High School. During his time as a head coach at CCMHS, his team won two CIF Southern Section Championships (2007 & 2008), and he was named at the CIF Southern Section Coach of the Year in both of those seasons. He posted a career head coaching record of 178-32.
 
Over the course of his entire career, Amoy has won 10 league championships, been named league Coach of the Year nine times, has coached two USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Qualifying teams, and been a CIF Finalist three times.
 
Outside of volleyball, Amoy and his wife Donna, who have been married since 1993, have two children, Tyler (22) and Jordyn (18). Amoy has also owned his own business for 25 years.
